'Swampscott 2025: The Master Plan' Public Forum Will Identify Priorities Dec. 1
Master Plan will establish goals, policies, to guide the physical & economic growth of Swampscott over next decade

Do you live, work or own a business in Swampscott? Are you interested in helping to shape the town’s physical and economic growth over the next 10 years? This is your opportunity to identify priority goals and strategies that will guide local policies on housing, economic development, open space, historic preservation, land use and more.

Join the Swampscott Master Plan Committee and the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) for a forum on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at 6:30 p.m. in the Swampscott High School Auditorium, 200 Essex St. in Swampscott.

The event will kick off with an open house at 6:30 p.m., where participants can review materials on each plan element, enjoy food and refreshments, and converse with fellow residents.

The formal presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium to present findings from the plan elements (Housing, Economic Development, History and Culture, Open Space and Recreation, Transportation and Circulation, Public Facilities and Services, Sustainability, and Land Use and Zoning), and introduce draft goals and strategies for each.

Participants will then return to the open house format to identify priority goals and strategies, and participate in mapping and visual preference exercises to help identify and guide future investment opportunities.

This is the fourth and final public forum that will inform the Swampscott 2025: The Master Plan planning process. Summaries for each previous meeting are available on the project website, http://Swampscott2025.mapc.org.

Swampscott 2025: The Master Plan, is being developed by the Town of Swampscott with the assistance of the Metropolitan Area Planning Council (MAPC) under the direction of the Master Plan Committee and Town Planner Pete Kane. Completion is anticipated in early 2016.
